In a town with so many creative young people the fashionmarket is a great place for them to "show off" and for us uncreative to be inspired. 3 whole days with fashionshows, stands, fynd and swopping (your trash - someone elses treasure. Good for you, even better for the planet!

Handmade clogs, clothes, jewlery, an eco-corner, and the best tomatosoup in town!

Since we had no goods of our own to sell, me and the girls helped out all weekend in fyndet, selling american apparel, pour, gul&blå, resteröds and and.....

Knitina

I think mum gives me too little credit for the amazing things I can do with two sticks and a little bit of "natur uld". Here you can see the ab-fab ME, both with the work in project, and the finished result.

I also just finished a very nice pannebånd (Mayka - you should do one too. Veeeery cool!!!), and have a new project in grey-melange, the colour I would choose if I had to live my whole life in just one colour.

I think mum, that instead of giving me tricks, you should give me treats. Notice the buttons that I even knitted holes for. Jeje. Peace out.

No time for blogging when you are knitting like there's no tomorrow!

Have started the new trend here in Borås. Now we are all knitting away, making BEAUTIFUL homemade fake polos!! If you do something wrong, you can just say you allways intended it to be so.

And tomorrow I'm doing something I never thought I would. I am making an effort to improve the student-introduction week. Why, you ask? All to get a free meal at lunch. Classy.

After realising my hair really is trying to go back to it's roots, I finally made an appointment with the hairdresser to get rid of them (read: the roots, in the hair, not the band. To get rid of the band would make such a mess. And they make good music, so why would we?)


Anyway, this means I have to decide on the bang-issue. Go for it, or go for midtskill and curtains? The curtains could have a nice kind of 70's feel to it if I wear them with that paisly-patterned dress that I do not own...


As you can see, after the whole examsperiod, I am back to the issues that REALLY matters in life.....

The Tina

You MAY wonder what I spend my time doing here in Sweden, so let me give you a little update. On this first picture I am doing a comercial for Pizza Hut, eating a delicious slice to make you want it as well.

On this next picture I am hanging out with a Swedish Idol guy, interwieving him and ice-skating at the same time. Just your average day.

School is obviously not the only thing I have time for, I also manage to work on different projects on the side. Such as my modelling- and reporting-career.

If you don't believe me - talk to Christina in my class, who found theese lovely pictures of "me" in "Fredag"....

welding, the sequal

The very interresting book about welding will show you the "simple" principles of building a good old fashioned "brönn". Aka somewhere you can get your water if you live in a country where the industrial revolution has not yet accured.

I am most definetly not studying the welding-business, but I foud myself sitting in the department of technics engeneering in the liberary one day, and this book caught my eye. There is a lot you can do to get out of your actual business - the studying-.

Other tips on how to kill time by doing NOTHING of importance are surely to follow in the next week as my exsams are coming up soon!

skills to pay the brills

These days I guess I don't have the skills to pay'em, but whocares? They're in the building, and are hopefully not gonna pull an Elvis on me!

Mom came to visit, and what better to do than sease the opportunity to learn to knit from the master herself?

So I told her to bring the strikkepinner, so she could teach me how... Little did I expect her to come with brand new equipmet for me, and a BIG plan aswell. When I was wisiting mum this summer I saw a pair of wollen socks that she was making, and I did the "puppy-eyes" to get her to make a pair for me aswell. But now, when I wanted to learn the noble art of knittig, she thought it better if I make'em myself. And I can tell you - not an easy first project.... But as long as mum believes, so will I!

GJELDSSLAVEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Today I finally got it! The long waited for letter (read: mail) that establishes my future as chained to the Norwegian governments' leg. Soon I am going to be a millionare (oh no wait -it was living below the line of poverty)! All I have to wait for is for some papers to arrive to me in Sweden, sign it, send it back, and THEN they will put some monitos in my account. Ah - did I mention they only take their good fucking time of TWO WEEKS before they send the papers? Papirmølle!

Anywhooo, if I ever felt the preassure to do good in school, it has now been multiplied by a 1000. You have to pass your exsams, you have to do good - so that you will get a job that can pay the money back. Blæh. Why did we ever want to grow up?

Today I went out and got myself a new pair of (desprately needed) glasses!

In approx. one week I will be the coolest kid in town, running around with my nerdy glasses, and at least LOOK the part of a student.... WOHOOOO!

Here you have the very professional weaver, aka me!

Our "classroom", and the very nice result of me and Olivias rutiga tyg, seen with gåsöga- and brutit gåsöga-bindninger. On this machine one meter takes about 5minutes to weave, I guess a bit faster than what you can do by hand, mum?

And here me and Olives are drawing a pattern for another fabric, that we are going to weave on another machine on monday. It is nice french lilies, and this may show up on christmas-eve as a purse or a nice pillow or something... Who knows?

statistics is gonna get the best of me!

After a week working like crazy on our case in statistics, it is soooooooo lovely that only one day of school is left before the weekend is here!

And what a weekend it is! Party on a roof with a wiev of the city!!! And what more is nice - the city I'm talking about is not Borås, but Göteborg! Olivia, that sweet thing is hosting the party of the year (or so we hope it will be)! So tomorrow we only have fun things in school - gonna weave a nice litte tablecloth or something - saturday is Göta of course, and tonight Heidi and Hasse is passing by here on their way to Jönköping.

So if I haven't passed out under the weight of my books this afternoon, I will be back kicking the statistics ass on monday!!!!

JEEEZ!!! I think I have found the reason for the one-hour lunches in Sweden! It is the hour you have to go live your life that does not include school or work. But wait a minute - I'm working during lunch today... As the spanish saying goes: MANJAAAAAAAANAAAAA!

What a feeling!

Been spending the whole day being tired, and now when I really need to go to sleep (because I have class at 8 tomorrow morning) I feel totally awake. It MAY have something to do with the celebration of Joannas (one of my roomies) birthday.... It included a very nice dinner with a big ( and sugery) B-day-cake.

When you work on a case in a group, there is not much you can do when it comes to the actual typing. At least not if you are Norwegian, and the rest of the gang is Swedish.... Wanna do every other sentence in SVORSK?

So I am pretending being very busy on the computer... Wait a sec, I AM very busy, just not with the right thing, maybe???

Well, not moving to Bergen because of the rainy weather was a very good idea.

Moving to Borås instead, not so good idea.

Check your facts first, missy. The most rainy city in Norway, or the most rainy city in Sweden.... Does it make much a difference?

Made a dinner yesterday that actually contained more ingredients that just pasta!

And of course I ate the rest for breakfast today.... :)

project runway

And so - the first workshop at school! Mixing students from all courses we got the task of making a school-uniform! Using "cast-away" fabrics that we were not allowed to cut, measure or draw! But with 6 creative minds, and a lot of (green!) thread, we were able to come up with a (in my mind) fabolous shirt, skirt and belt!

Luckily, we were blessed to get one groupmember from Taiwan, who had worked as a model back home. She was a great asset to us, seen how she was so tiny, we could drape the fabrics (that felt and looked most like the fabrics of old buss-seats) neatly around her shoulders and waist!

The back of the blouse (crazy cool) was done by our fashion-designerstudent, Bella, and take a close look at the skirt, I did most of the sowing on that! (Can you believe it??? It weighs at least 5 kilos. Probably we got our hands on some fabric ment for interiordesigners more than us...)

SO happy and proud with the result, can't believe we did this in one day!!! ;)

Yes, my dear friend the magnificent, I am alive and kickin'! But since I've been in Borås, I have had some personal problems with my other good friend, the Internet. He has not been willing to talk to me, and therefore I have been spending my time in the real world (in Borås the real world takes about 10 minutes to pass through, so I have had the happy expirience of living the real world through and trough many times!)

Now I have had the shocking news that my papers has to be delivered in eiter english or SWEDISH, and that my native language of norwegian is no good here! And so my teacher suggested to me that it might be a good idea to do a course for those who have swedish as a second language! In other words, I just became an invandrare, and my skin feels a litte darker just by the minute now!

Plus I think there is a possibility that my brain is shrinking. Företagsekonomi and statisk analys got my fellow students nodding with understanding and recognition, while I posed my usual look - the questionmark -....

Then it suddenly hit me!

With 3 days left in the hometown, all that needs to be arranged is taken care of, all alone in my mums big house (because she like every one else normal has gone to work) and too much time to hang out with just my own head!

-I'm leaving Norway, Oslo, Trondheim-

I'm leaving work, my friends, my hobbies - everything behind - for a very unsecure future as a student of the textile economics, in a town where I know NOONE!!!!
